| Ewald Plachutta: A chef with joy and passion for the exquisiteHis culinary expertise is appreciated far beyond Austrian borders; he has been the top ambassador for the unique Vienna cuisine: Ewald Plachutta satisfies gourmets in Hong Kong, Barcelona, Hamburg and Zurich. Gault-Millau named him Chef of the Year in 1991 and awarded him three toques in 1992. In the same year A la Carte Austria awarded him with the “Gourmet Trophy”. In 1993, Ewald Plachutta celebrated his first Michelin Star. A number of other awards pay tribute to an extraordinary career. 2003 marked the current pinnacle of success when he was awarded the Golden Honorary Medal of the City of Vienna. With some 700.000 books sold Ewald Plachutta is perhaps Austria’s most successful author of cookery books. |
